About me

Hi, thanks for dropping by!

I hail from Bath, in the wild and woolly, Southwest of England. I’m just an ordinary gal, a wife,  a nurse, and a college girl amongst other things.  I’m also  a “mum” to a twelve-year-old Sheltie (Shetland Sheepdog) , and yes he even gets his own page:  The Monty Chronicles. [Update 18 January 2018: Monty Moss RIP]

This is a window into my world and mini adventures especially in my Mobility scooter, a collection of my Musings on life, the world and the universe. We are all fellow sojourners, nomads and travellers on this journey of life.

I would like to share some of my experiences, tips, resources and reviews covering a wide range of interests and topics, that I’ve found helpful along the way. These include but not limited to my Open University journey – Old College Gal  as a mature, but young-at-heart psychology student [Update: I graduated BSc (Hons) Psychology (Open) this July 2017]. The experience of living with hidden disabilities of long term  physical and mental health problems, such as Fibromyalgia, anxiety and depression, their daily impact and how to improve the quality of life experience despite the chronic pain and chronic fatigue.

I have many loves! I love music, and have an eclectic taste, from classical, jazz, folk to pop. I love singing in a well known local ladies choir –  Jane Lilley Singers of Bath.

I enjoy travel, reading and going to the theatre. I like watching murder mysteries including Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Miss Marple and Foyle’s War.  I am a huge Harry Potter fan, and Mr.M and I not only re-watch boxed sets, but have visited the Warner Bros. Harry Potter Studio Tour four times since it opened! I love white chocolate, cafe lattes, red wine and local brewed cider (well I’m a West Country girl after all!).

I’m a technophile especially Apple technology, though I cannot afford a mac computer, I do enjoy my iPhone 5S and iPad 4th generation. I enjoy mentoring folks less IT literate than myself to demystify their Apple, Android and Kindle gadgets.

Some girls like shoes or clothes,  but love bags (meaning a container for holding possessions, not any alternative urban slang definition)! I’m always on the look out for the perfect bag, that’s both functional, feminine and fashionable. As William Morris said, “Have in your house only things that are useful or beautiful “, preferably both!

So this is a little about me. I hope you will pop by from time to time and, hopefully find something interesting or helpful to brighten your day.
